Stupendously beautiful small island just off San Marco (one stop on the Vaporetto), it hosts an old abbey with regular exhibitions focusing on the art of glass. Amazing views over Venice too.

On the islet of San Giorgio you should visit the teatro Verde della Fondazione Giorgio Cini, a classic amphitheater that only recently was opened to the public.
