Accademia Bridge updated

Map

The Accademia Bridge was first built in steel in 1854. The current wooden structure was built as a temporary replacement but a lack of consensus on what would replace it means that it is still there. There have been several fires on the bridge recently giving more urgency to the discussions.

Incredible scenic views from this bridge. Less busy than the Rialto and you can see impressive architecture up along the canal here.

All the photos of boats in grande canal with Santa Maria basilica in background are probably taken from here. Vantage point for the most scenic views in Venice.

One of the nicest bridges in the city between two so touristic neighbourhoods. Great spot for photo taking both direction. Nice to spend some time to watch people.

A very big bridge you'll find yourself crossing many times. The view from the top is a beauty as well as the bridge itself.

My favorite bridge in the world. Excellent view, love the temporary nature and great memories.

It's crowded like hell, but the views are really nice. Resist, soon you can get lost in small streets on either side ))

I like the view here a lot more than at the Rialto bridge. You'll see why.

Beautiful wooden bridge with gorgeous views. Watch out for the selfie stick salesmen!

Amazing views of the canal, the Guggenheim, and the Basilica di Santa Maria.

If you are a photographer like me don't even try long exposure, the bridge is wooden and moves a lot. Night photography is a joke as well, none of the buildings around are lit.

A stand out from the other bridges because of its wood construction.

Great views, and there is a restaurant almost under the bridge.

There are only 3 bridges across the Grand Canal, each is unique, there are toilets under the steps. People have been putting padlocks on the bridge.
