The Italian Schola
MapThe Italian Schola is in the Ghetto Nuovo square. It is the simplest of the five Venetian synagogues. Built in 1575, by Italian jews who migrated from the south, on top of some apartments in the same square as the German synagogue. The Italian Synagogue has a cupola, barely visible from the square outside, and a portico with columns marking its entrance. It can be visited on a guided tour run by the Jewish Museum.
