The Vaporetto of Art

Update: This vaporetto is no longer running (since 2014).

The 1st of June 2012 Venice witnessed the launch of the Vaporetto of art on the Grand Canal, a new navigation line established by the Municipality of Venice and operated by Actv, dedicated to the 24 million tourists that visit the city every year. Over 20 Venetian artistic and cultural heritage sites can be visited along the navigation line: tourists will be able to get on and off at their leisure, stopping to visit museums, monuments, theatres and exhibitions.
The line runs every day from 9am to 7pm and leaves every 30 minutes from the Ferrovia (Railway Station) landing jetty with a terminus on the island of San Giorgio (or at the Arsenale and Giardini stops, during the Biennale International Art and Architecture Exhibitions).

Tickets cost 24 Euros and last for 24 hours.

On board a free welcome kit will be given out, containing a paper guide with a summary of the route and the main information on the partner institutions, as well as the reductions for Vaporetto dell'Arte customers. The kit also contains disposable headphones for the audio guide.
